The establishment of the Mohamed bin Zayed Falconry and Desert Physiognomy School was announced during the Third International Festival of Falconry, held in the United Arab Emirates in 2014, in the presence of distinguished falconers from 82 countries around the world.
This initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to preserving its authentic cultural heritage, strengthening the connection between the past and the present, and honouring the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the pioneer of falconry, may his soul rest in peace. Sheikh Zayed established a pioneering approach to safeguarding falconry heritage and passing its traditions and knowledge on to future generations.
Having commenced its activities in 2016, the school celebrates the launch of its 11th season (2026–2027), reaffirming its ongoing commitment to preserving falconry heritage, promoting traditional knowledge and skills, and inspiring new generations to carry forward the legacy of safeguarding this rich cultural heritage.
